We are very proud to announce that Ink has signed a new partnership with the UK’s iconic challenger airline Virgin Atlantic, where we will revamp its inflight magazine Vera, as well as represent all media sales.
From September, we will create an upgraded magazine for Virgin Atlantic’s loyal customers, with a complete relaunch in October. The new Vera will be a dazzling entertainment and travel magazine, that cleverly connects the onboard entertainment offering with original destination tips from across Virgin Atlantic’s global network.
Mark Anderson, Executive Vice President, Customer at Virgin Atlantic said: “Offering our customers a unique and memorable experience is absolutely key to us at Virgin Atlantic; so we are delighted to be working with Ink’s expert team to give our inflight magazine a total makeover. Expect a new and exciting travel and entertainment magazine from October 2017.”
Ink’s joint CEO Michael Keating said: “Virgin Atlantic is an exciting challenger brand, renowned for its award-winning inflight service and entertainment. The new look Vera will be every bit as forward thinking, energetic and smart. We will not only bring the extraordinary onboard movie, tv and audio programming to life editorially but also highlight the most inspiring stories in each destination across the Virgin Atlantic network. Advertisers will also have the opportunity to reach sought after Virgin Atlantic customers in many engaging ways at all points of the journey.”
In addition to publishing Vera, from January 2018, Ink will also be representing all inflight entertainment (IFE) and ambient advertising opportunities. Virgin Atlantic has multiple ways to access its loyal passengers via various touch points across the customer journey including print, TV advertising, Clubhouse promotions and onboard sampling. This is a unique advertising opportunity for brands, as overall travel numbers are increasing year on year and are expected to double by 2034.
Virgin Atlantic was founded by entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson over 30 years ago after he decided the UK aviation industry needed shaking up and an injection of style. On 22nd June 1984, Virgin Atlantic’s inaugural flight to Newark took place, on an aircraft filled with personal friends, celebrities and the media.
The airline has pioneered a range of innovations setting new standards of service. For example, Virgin Atlantic was the first airline to introduce Premium Economy, include a bar on every aircraft for Upper Class customers, offer seatback TV in every seat in every cabin, develop a new generation fully flatbed inward-facing herringbone seat and fly a commercial aircraft on biofuels. Despite Virgin Atlantic’s growth, the service remains customer driven with an emphasis on value for money, quality, fun and innovation.
