Tredegar Surface Protection Launches Innovative Obsidian Automotive Protective Films

Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in March increased three percent compared to March 2020. They were up three percent when compared to the same three months of 2020. The operating rate was 91.0 percent, down 2.2 points from March 2020 and up 0.6 points year-to-date. Mill inventories at the end of March decreased 10,000 short tons from the previous month and were up 6,000 short tons compared to March 2020.

In alignment with Inteplast Group’s sustainability goals, the BOPP Films business unit has received ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) PLUS certification at the following facilities: Gray Court, SC; Lolita, TX; and Morristown, TN. Inteplast BOPP Films can now produce and supply ISCC-certified materials that are attributed via a mass balance approach.** This makes the company one of the first North American BOPP film manufacturers to hold the ISCC PLUS designation. The operating rate was 92.3 percent, up 6.7 points from September 2019 and essentially flat (-0.1 pts.) year-to-date. Mill inventories at the end of September decreased 3,000 short tons from the previous month, and were up 12,000 short tons compared to September 2019.
