Total U.S. Packaging Papers & Specialty Packaging Shipments Increased One Percent in May 2022

Together with Nissha Metallizing Solutions, Koehler Paper has developed a premium product and is expanding its offerings in the NexPlus® group of innovative flexible packaging paper products. With its excellent oxygen, grease, and mineral oil barrier properties, the product is suitable for metallizing, making it perfect not only for packaging for food such as chips, energy bars, energy powders, and coffee, but also for non-food products such as cosmetics in powder or solid form. The extremely thin metallized vacuum coating ensures recyclability and contributes to a sustainable circular economy. The Paper is made 100% with virgin fiber pulp from certified sustainable forestry and controlled sources and that is designed to be recyclable in conformity with the latest testing methods. In comparison to conventional plastic packaging, the flexible packaging paper reduces carbon footprints significantly and contributes to a sustainable circular economy.

DS Smith Tecnicarton has designed and manufactured a new packaging for the metallurgical sector in four-wave laminated cardboard, especially suitable for heavy bulks in the sector, whether they are positioned or extendable parts. It is a unique packaging that is extremely resistant and able to adapt to the needs of the product and its transport conditions. In addition, the possibility of customizing the measures, allows to adapt it to the European regulations, as well as to the maritime platforms or to the measures stipulated by the client. Another of its main advantages is that its folding system allows a single piece to function as both a bottom and a body and to be assembled in a single movement. This innovation introduces significant cost savings in the assembly process, as time is significantly reduced; it facilitates stacking and allows for a significant reduction in storage space.

Following the success of its original Lewis Hamilton signature energy drink, Monster Energy has continued its ongoing partnership with the seven-time Formula One World Champion to launch a new zero-sugar version. Zero sugar is a key growth driver in the energy drink category. The new Lewis Hamilton Zero Sugar edition has a completely new formula with a refreshing peach nectarine flavour described as “stone fruits” and is made from vegan ingredients. For this all new SKU (Stock Keeping Unit), Monster needed new artwork that reflected Lewis Hamilton’s status as a global sporting celebrity. They achieved this with a unique collaboration between the champion driver and cutting-edge digital artist Mad Dog Jones (Michah Dowbak).
