Already proudly used by thousands of organizations in Europe, Carbon Balanced Paper is now available on any Midland paper product made in North America.
When paper is Carbon Balanced, the average emissions associated with its production are offset by global conservation charity World Land Trust (WLT). WLT achieves this by protecting threatened habitats that would otherwise have been lost, avoiding the release of stored carbon. This also enables the regeneration of degraded habitats, which gradually re-absorb atmospheric CO2.
Participants receive a unique Carbon Balanced Paper logo for use on their artwork and an official WLT certificate validating the amount of carbon saved.
All Carbon Balanced projects are carefully designed according to robust standards that ensure offsets are delivered at a portfolio of sites where they are measurable, verifiable and properly monitored, and can achieve high quality REDD (Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) outcomes.
The current Carbon Balanced Paper project is focused in Vietnam, protecting an important area of the Annamite Moutains rich in biodiversity. In addition to the carbon benefit, your participation helps protect many endangered wildlife species.
