The Postal Service has seen a significant increase in mail volume, with volume surpassing 3 billion mailpieces for the week of Oct. 3. This surge in volume represents an increase of 19 percent, or an additional 480 million mailpieces, compared to the average volume in September. Key performance indicators for the week of Oct. 3 include: *First-Class Mail: 86.15 percent of First-Class Mail was delivered on time, a 0.18 percent increase from the week of Sept. 26 *Marketing Mail: 89.17 percent of Marketing Mail was delivered on time, a 0.65 percent decrease from week of Sept. 26 *Periodicals: 78.54 percent of Periodicals were delivered on time, a 0.24 percent increase from the week of Sept. 26

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon has decided to quit it’s micro-blogging site, alongside Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with immediate effect. The company closed down its Twitter and Facebook accounts, which had 44,000 and 100,000 followers, respectively, as well as its Instagram feed, for all of its 900 pubs and head office. It added that recent concerns regarding the misuse of personal data, following the Facebook scandal, and the addictive nature of social media had influenced its decision. Tim Martin, Chairman of the pub chain told the BBC he believes that this action will not affect the business. In fact, after much consultation, more than 90% of the pub managers felt that using social media was not helping the business and the idea of social media as an essential tool to advertising was simply untrue. Fourth Quarter 2022 Results - Sales increased 1% to $448.0 million, compared to $443.1 million during the same period last year. Sales include a $38.4 million unfavorable impact related to the voluntary recalls, which impacted certain products in Coolers & Equipment. Gross profit decreased 34% to $167.0 million, or 37.3% of sales, compared to $254.8 million, or 57.5% of sales, in the fourth quarter of 2021. Gross profit was also negatively impacted by higher inbound freight, higher product costs, and the unfavorable impact of foreign currency exchange rates, partially offset by favorable channel mix and the price increases implemented in the first quarter of 2022.
