Pregis Begins Production in New Reno, Nevada Manufacturing Facility

Pregis, a leading global manufacturer of protective packaging, recently started production at its new 298,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada. The facility is producing the Pregis EverTec™ cushioned mailer, a durable, lightweight, curbside recyclable, paper cushioned shipping solution.

Since acquiring the technology to manufacture the envirotech shipping solution in 2020, Pregis has scaled the production and full-color digital printing of the curbside recyclable product to meet consumer demand, and it continues to add sites to serve strategic geographic markets in this rapidly growing e-commerce packaging market. The Reno plant is the newest facility to add production capacity of EverTec in addition to recently opened facilities in Arlington, Texas; Bethel, Pennsylvania; McDonough, Georgia; and the expansion of the founding Elk Grove Village, Illinois location.

Mondi’s paper-based EcoWicketBag wins gold in 2021 EUROSAC Grand Prix

Mondi has once again won the prestigious EUROSAC Grand Prix Sack of the Year award, this year for its revolutionary EcoWicketBag. EUROSAC, the European Federation of Multiwall Paper Sack Manufacturers, chose Mondi’s EcoWicketBag for its potential to reduce plastic packaging waste in the global hygiene industry. Mondi’s EcoWicketBag design is a paper-based packaging solution that provides an alternative to traditional plastic packaging, replacing it with renewable, recyclable paper. Created from strong virgin kraft paper sourced from sustainably managed forests, it is the first paper wicket bag that runs on existing equipment. Amcor honored with eight Flexible Packaging Association Achievement Awards

The FPA Achievement Awards have showcased packaging industry innovation since 1956. This year, there were a record 333 entries, with 22 ultimately honored.
