Paul Hudson Selected as the 2025 Executive of the Year

PIA has announced the selection of Paul Hudson, President, CEO and owner of Hudson Printing in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the PIA 2025 Executive of the Year. A pioneer in digital printing, workflow automation and process optimization, Paul has consistently pushed the boundaries to make print more accessible, efficient, impactful and relevant to today’s marketplace.

“Paul was chosen for this honor,” says Amy Miller, Chair of PIA’s Public Relations Committee, which is responsible for selecting the Executive of the Year, “because of the way that he represents the industry at home and abroad by forging ahead with technological innovation while modeling a commitment to sustainability.”

How did Paul get to this point? Well, you might say that print is in Paul’s blood. When he was a child, Paul’s father owned and ran the 100-year-old company that eventually became Hudson Printing. Growing up around the print shop, Paul spent countless hours with his father, developing a deep appreciation for the craft.

Postal Service Delivery Performance Steady at 2.5 Days

FY24 first quarter service performance scores covering October 1 through November 3, included: *First-Class Mail: 88.0 percent of First-Class Mail delivered on time against the USPS service standard, a decrease of 3.0 percentage points from the fiscal fourth quarter. *Marketing Mail: 94.6 percent of Marketing Mail delivered on time against the USPS service standard, consistent with performance from the fiscal fourth quarter. *Periodicals: 85.7 percent of Periodicals delivered on time against the USPS service standard, consistent with performance from the fiscal fourth quarter.

News Corp Completes Acquisition of OPIS

News Corp announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) and related assets, including the Coal, Mining and Metals business from S&P Global and IHS Markit. OPIS, a highly profitable and growing digital data, analytics and insights provider, will join Dow Jones’ professional information business, expanding Dow Jones’ presence in the energy, commodities and renewables markets. News Corp acquired OPIS for $1.150 billion in a cash transaction, subject to customary adjustments (and expects to receive an estimated tax benefit of $180 million as part of the transaction1). News Corp also has an agreement to acquire the Base Chemicals business from S&P Global and IHS Markit; that acquisition is expected to close in the coming months.
