Oliver Completes Fourth Packaging Acquisition

Oliver Inc. (“Oliver”) announces it has acquired Professional Image and aspecialtybox.com (collectively, “Professional Image”). Professional Image is a leading manufacturer of custom folding carton packaging and e-commerce provider of innovative stock packaging and accessories serving customers in food and beverage, beauty products, confection, health and wellness, and consumer goods markets. Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Professional Image will continue delivering design-forward packaging solutions from its current location.

Sonoco Gears Up for Summer Rollout of Recyclable Sonopost® Technology in Europe

Sonoco Protective Solutions announced the expansion of its proprietary Sonopost® packaging technology into Europe. Utilizing current manufacturing infrastructure, strategically located to support this growing opportunity, Sonoco Protective Solutions will expand with a new Sonopost manufacturing operation in Sochaczew, Poland this summer. The Sonopost manufacturing platform uses corner posts made from 100% recycled paperboard to provide a more sustainable packaging solution for large appliances, HVAC units and similar products requiring superior unit protection and exceptional stacking capability. After use, the 100% recyclable corner posts can be bailed with existing paper scrap and recycled in the paper stream, allowing manufacturers to reduce or completely eliminate their plastic packaging waste.

2021 Highlights: *Net Sales were $7,156 million versus $6,560 million in the prior year. *Net Organic Sales increased approximately 2% in the fourth quarter and full year versus the prior year periods. *Net Income was $204 million versus $167 million in the prior year. *Executing approximately $850 million in recognized pricing actions in 2021 and 2022 to address commodity input cost inflation. *Commissioning the world's lowest-cost and highest-quality coated recycled paperboard production capabilities at the Kalamazoo, Michigan campus. *Completed AR Packaging and Americraft acquisitions, significantly expanding geographies, markets and the product portfolio.
