Nekoosa Announces Carbonless Price Increase

Stora Enso is leasing the former paper machinery hall at its Veitsiluoto site in Finland to the textile technology company Infinited Fiber Company, which plans to build a commercial-scale factory to produce regenerated textile fiber from textile waste. Earlier this month Stora Enso sold its district heating business at Veitsiluoto to utility infrastructure company Nevel, a provider of advanced industrial and municipal infrastructure solutions. “We always want to find sustainable and financially robust long-term solutions to ensure a viable future for our former sites. I am pleased with our rapid progress in signing a lease with companies that can take advantage of the Veitsiluoto infrastructure and bring new business to the area. Our work at Veitsiluoto continues in order to bring more activity and jobs to the site," says Seppo Parvi, Stora Enso's CFO and Country Manager for Finland.

Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. announced that, effective immediately, it will increase prices for all its Cellulose Specialties products by a minimum 15 to 30 percent depending on product grade, as contracts allow. The purpose of this increase is to help the Company offset the accelerating impacts of cost inflation throughout its global supply chain. “As the Company has entered the second half of 2021, it has been confronted by the realities of substantial cost inflation,” said Paul Boynton, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Specifically, the Company is experiencing marked increases with respect to four core components of its Cellulose Specialties input costs – fiber, chemicals, energy and freight – and the Company currently expects these increases to continue well into 2022. These actions are a necessary step in the current global environment and will supplement ongoing cost- and efficiency-improvement initiatives at the Company’s four best-in-class High Purity Cellulose facilities.”

Q4/2021 (year-on-year) *Sales increased by 26.3% to EUR 2,719 (2,154) million. *Operational EBIT increased to EUR 426 (118) million. *Operational EBIT margin increased to 15.7% (5.5%). *Operating profit (IFRS) increased to EUR 839 (289) million including the positive impact from the valuation of biological assets. *Strong cash flow from operations amounted to EUR 619 (436) million. Cash flow after investing activities was EUR 424 (223) million. *The net debt to operational EBITDA ratio improved to 1.1 (2.3). The target is to keep the ratio below 2.0. Year 2021 (year-on-year) *Sales were EUR 10,164 (8,553) million. *Operational EBIT more than doubled to EUR 1,528 (650) million.
