MM Group to close PM3 at Kwidzyn mill in Poland

heinzelsales (Wilfried Heinzel AG), the sales network of Heinzel Group, announces the acquisition of Firgos (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a paperboard trading company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With a team of eleven employees and a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Firgos Malaysia offers paper and board products from suppliers around the world to customers across Southeast Asia. heinzelsales has taken over the company from Mayr-Melnhof Cartonboard International GmbH, a subsidiary of Austrian paperboard producer Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG. The new rating places Berry in the top ‘Leadership’ band and underlines meaningful actions the company is taking to meet its sustainability goals. Only 12% of companies in the Plastic Product Manufacturing group, of which Berry is part, have reached leadership level. Total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in March increased three percent compared to March 2020. They were up three percent when compared to the same three months of 2020. The operating rate was 91.0 percent, down 2.2 points from March 2020 and up 0.6 points year-to-date. Mill inventories at the end of March decreased 10,000 short tons from the previous month and were up 6,000 short tons compared to March 2020.
