Mail-Gard® Creates an Advanced Recovery Center in Pennsylvania

Mail-Gard®, a division of IWCO Direct and one of the nation’s leading providers of critical communication recovery solutions, announced it is creating a dedicated Advanced Recovery Center at its Warminster, Pa. campus. With a second dedicated recovery center located in Hamburg, Pa., the expansion of Mail-Gard’s footprint will improve service delivery while providing increased efficiency of operations, training, and shared resources.

With a total of 105,000-square-feet at the primary location, the Advanced Recovery Center will also allow for future expansion of technology and staff necessary to support a robust platform of business continuity, disaster recovery, and print-to-mail overflow services. To accommodate the change, recovery equipment will be relocated from Minnesota to Pennsylvania.

Postal Service Reports Sustained Service Performance

FY23 fourth quarter service performance scores covering July 1 through August 4, included: *First-Class Mail: 91.4 percent of First-Class Mail delivered on time against the USPS service standard, consistent with performance from the fiscal third quarter. *Marketing Mail: 95.1 percent of Marketing Mail delivered on time against the USPS service standard, consistent with performance from the fiscal third quarter. *Periodicals: 85.7 percent of Periodicals delivered on time against the USPS service standard, a decrease of 2.9 percentage points from the fiscal third quarter.

Print Unit Sales Rose 7% at the End of August (publishersweekly.com)

Unit sales of print books rose 7.1% in the week ended Aug. 29, 2020, over the comparable week in 2019, at outlets that report to NPD BookScan. Backlist titles continued to drive growth in the juvenile nonfiction category, which posted unit gains of 39.7% over the week ended Aug. 31, 2019. Big Preschool Workbook remained the top title in juvenile nonfiction, selling more than 26,000 copies. A couple of Brain Quest titles by Lisa Trumbauer had big sales jumps in the week, including Brain Quest Workbook: Kindergarten and Brain Quest Workbook: Grade 1, which landed in the fifth and sixth spots, respectively, on the category bestseller list; the two sold about 20,000 copies combined. His Truth Is Marching On by Jon Meacham was the top new release in the week, selling more than 38,000 copies. It was #1 on the adult nonfiction list and helped to drive up sales in the category by 4.3%.
