Lecta introduces its new line of Adestor self-adhesive labels for beverages and delicatessen products

The new catalog includes a full range of exclusive self-adhesive label application materials for wines, spirits, craft beers and delicatessen products. Each label comes in various sizes so that an assessment can be made of its appearance, feel and finish, and it can be applied directly to the final product.

The new Adestor line includes our latest exclusive labeling products, designed and printed with various finishes that highlight the versatility, elegance and quality of our premium self-adhesive products.

The new Adestor catalog is further evidence of Lecta’s commitment to sustainability, featuring innovations aimed at reducing the environmental impact and promoting a circular economy: Essence Nature DfE 90 WS, 100% recycled material with textured finish; Stonepaper® 144 DfE, certified Cradle to Cradle Silver made from mineral powder; and Cold Ice White 110 HWS with HWS technology, which allows the commonly used film laminate to be eliminated, replacing it with a natural high wet strength layer, resulting in a plastic-free label.

The entire Adestor range is manufactured in accordance with the ISO 14001 and EMAS environmental standards, the ISO 50001 energy management standard, the ISO 9001 quality standard, and the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standard. Products are available with PEFC™ Chain of Custody or FSC® C011032 forest certification upon request.

Stora Enso completes the union negotiations in Kvarnsveden

Stora Enso has completed the union negotiations regarding the closure of pulp and paper production at Kvarnsveden. A total of 340 people will be permanently laid off. Some 25% of the redundancies can be managed through pension arrangements, and 100 people have already found new jobs within Stora Enso or with an external employer. The redundancies will mostly take effect in November. In April 2021, Stora Enso announced a plan to permanently close down pulp and paper production at its Kvarnsveden site due to the declining paper market. As a result of the co-determination negotiations regarding the Kvarnsveden site, pulp and paper production will be closed permanently from 30 September 2021. The customer service centre at Kvarnsveden will be closed by 31 December 2021. The power plant will continue to operate, but only for the purpose of district heating and for maintaining the buildings onsite. When the co-determination plan was announced in April, the maximum personnel impact was estimated to be 440 people. As a result of the negotiations, 340 people will be permanently laid off. Zanders Paper Ceases Production

Midland received the communication below from our Zanders Mill representative today: It is with heavy hearts that I tell you Zanders Paper has officially stopped production and we will close our doors. Unfortunately, a viable agreement could not be found between our investment group and the insolvency administrator to allow Zanders to move forward.
