Greif Launches New Modular Packaging Solution

Greif, Inc. (NYSE: GEF, GEF.B), a global leader in industrial packaging products and services, announced at the Pack-Expo conference in Chicago the launch of ModCan™, an innovative modular packaging solution designed to improve efficiency and safety in shipping and storing dissimilar materials and waste.

Using a unique wedge-shaped design, the modular components are engineered to fit precisely into a Greif 55-gallon drum, allowing multiple materials, chemicals, or waste components to be shipped together without fear of contamination or exposure. By optimizing the available space inside a single drum, ModCan reduces the number of shipments required and improves safety by eliminating the need to transfer or consolidate materials into larger containers.

This is particularly useful for waste applications in specialty manufacturing, semiconductor operations, clean rooms, laboratories, and pharmaceutical production.

Pregis introduced its Inspyre brand in 2018 with the mission of providing customers with the option to choose packaging that does good for the world. Since the introduction, Pregis has donated a portion of the proceeds of these products, including Inspyre hybrid cushioning with water blue color tint and tissue paper packaging, to Uzima Clean Water Mission. The company plans to expand the Inspyre product offering to increase its global impact. Uzima provides water filters, hygiene kits and education to communities across the world to overcome water insecurities improving overall wellness in those communities through access to clean water.

Ahlstrom-Munksjö launches MasterTape™ Pack Green, a sustainable alternative for plastic PSA packaging tape backings

Ahlstrom-Munksjö continues to expand in the packaging tape market by launching MasterTape™ Pack Green tape backing offering consisting of bio-based tape backings with greater sustainability attributes. MasterTape™ Pack Green is available in multiple variants and basis weights, including saturated tape backings, as well as saturated and release coated tape backings with different levels of releases that are compliant with various adhesive systems. The offering can also be fully customized based on customer requirements. MasterTape™ Pack Green offers an alternative to plastic tape solutions, and it is produced from responsibly sourced and renewable wood pulp, certified according to Forest Stewardship Council® standards. Aligned with Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s ‘from Plastic to Purpose’ campaign that aims to raise awareness about the possibilities of fiber-based solutions as a renewable option, its bio-based contents are above 85%, and it is repulpable and recyclable according to EN13430.
