The International Council of Forest and Paper Associations (ICFPA) issued its Global CEO Leadership Statement 2.0, which includes seven sustainability commitments the global industry will take action on for a better world.

The new leadership statement reflects changes in the industry and was endorsed by the American Forest & Paper Association’s (AF&PA) Board of Directors at their February meeting, as well as company and association CEOs from ten countries at the ICFPA’s ninth international CEO Roundtable last week in Vancouver, Canada.
The ICFPA has transparently reported progress on its sustainability commitments since they were issued in its original 2006 leadership statement. The ICFPA’s latest Sustainability Progress Report shows the industry continued to successfully make progress on nearly all its sustainability performance indicators.

Going forward, the global industry’s efforts and the ICFPA’s biennial sustainability report will focus on the commitments listed in the Global CEO Leadership Statement 2.0.
AF&PA is a founding member of the ICFPA, which represents 18 national and regional forest and paper associations that encompass 28 countries as well as the top global pulp, paper and wood producers. For more information about the global forest and paper industry, visit icfpa.org.
