Domtar Becomes a U.S. Army PaYS Partner

We’re proud to announce we recently became a U.S. Army PaYS partner. The Partnership for Your Success (PaYS) program provides job opportunities for veterans after their military service ends.

As a PaYS partner, we are committed to guaranteeing job interviews for veterans in the program whose skillsets match our job openings. If a veteran’s skillset matches a job opening at one of our U.S. locations, they’ll be guaranteed an interview. If they are chosen to advance, they would then progress through our normal hiring process.

Paper & Packaging President Steve Henry and U.S. Army Lt. Col. Julian Milligan formalized our PaYS partner agreement with their signatures at an event at our Fort Mill, South Carolina, offices.

Employees, veterans and Fort Mill Mayor Guynn Savage helped mark the occasion, which also featured a special recognition of our employee veterans.

Mondi enters low-white recycled office paper market with NAUTILUS® Elemental, awarded with Blue Angel certification

Mondi, a global leader in packaging and paper, launches NAUTILUS® Elemental, its first recycled office paper product for the low-white segment. The new product made from 100% post-consumer waste complements the existing wide range of premium high-white recycled papers. Low-white recycled papers are particularly popular with public authorities and institutions (e.g. schools). The new paper is now available across Europe. Due to an increasing demand for recycled paper, Mondi extended its NAUTILUS® portfolio and availability over the past few years. This latest product innovation is the next milestone in its strategy and targets important low-white markets in Europe where currently limited suppliers exist. NAUTILUS® Elemental is ideally suited for all types of office communication such as everyday communication, e-mail print-outs, direct mail, invoices and manuals. NAUTILUS® Elemental is produced in Austria in compliance with certification schemes including the Blue Angel, FSC® Recycled, EU Ecolabel and the Austrian Ecolabel.

Catalyst Paper enters into Agreement to sell U.S. mills

Catalyst Paper announced that it has entered into a Sales and Purchase Agreement with ND Paper LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Ltd.(“ND Paper”), a Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed company, for the sale of Catalyst’s U.S. operations to ND Paper for US$175 million. Upon the closing of this transaction, ND Paper will acquire Catalyst’s Rumford, Maine and Biron, Wisconsin mills along with the associated staff at the company’s U.S. operations center in Dayton, Ohio. Catalyst has agreed to provide transition support services to ND Paper to assist with the development of certain operational and administrative functions required for the two U.S. mills.
