Developed internally at Transcontinental Ultra Flex, the new flexible peanut bag was designed using certified compostable materials to support arenas and stadiums’ green initiatives and help sports teams, venues, and leagues achieve the next level of landfill waste diversion. This award celebrates TC Transcontinental Packaging’s commitment to sustainability, especially to ecodesign, as it strives to design products that take into consideration the environmental impacts of the product during its entire life-cycle. “The chief benefit of the new bag is that it reduces the amount of labour previously devoted to the manual sorting of materials collected during clean-up after games. The products Koehler NexPlus® OGR and Koehler NexPlus® Wrap now not only do without the use of fluorochemicals, but also without the use of acrylate. This makes them the sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative to the packaging paper previously used in the fast food sector. With Koehler NexPlus® OGR and Koehler NexPlus® Wrap, Koehler Paper, a leading provider of paper with a disruptive barrier function for packaging solutions, has developed its fast-food paper further and brought it more into line with customer demand for sustainability. These products are now not only made without the use of fluorochemicals, as they have always been, but also without the use of acry-lates, making them a sustainable and environmentally alternative to the packaging paper currently used in the fast-food sector.

Ahlstrom is further extending its range of release papers by introducing new products supporting sustainability and circularity in manufacturing Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) laminates and labels. Ahlstrom strives to develop sustainable products, support the transition to more renewable, bio-based materials, and enable more efficient use of resources. In line with these targets, Ahlstrom is extending its Acti-V® range of high-performance label release liners with new products offering novel options to sustainability-driven laminators, label printers, and end-users, thanks to the use of post-consumer recycled fibers and unbleached cellulose fibers: *Acti-V® RF Yellow is a supercalendered release paper including at least 15% post-consumer recycled fiber, featuring the typical light-yellow color of paper liners that carry most PSA paper labels in Europe. *Acti-V® RF Natural is a supercalendered release paper featuring a light creamy color, naturally resulting from the blend of at least 15% post-consumer recycled fiber and unbleached and bleached cellulose fibers.
