Change in UPM’s Group Executive Team

Mika Kekki has been appointed to act as interim Executive Vice President of UPM Communication Papers business area as of 1 August 2024. He assumes this role on top of his current duties and continues in his current role as Executive Vice President of UPM Plywood business area. The recruitment process for the Executive Vice President of UPM Communication Papers business area is ongoing. As communicated on 13 March 2024, Antti Jääskeläinen, the current interim Executive Vice President of UPM Communication Papers business area and Executive Vice President, UPM Raflatac business area, will leave UPM to take the role of President and CEO in the Finnish logistics and distribution company Posti Group Oyj. He will continue with his duties at UPM until the end of July 2024.

Norbord Inc. reported that its OSB mill in 100 Mile House, British Columbia has temporarily suspended production due to the wild fires burning nearby in the region and in order to comply with evacuation orders in the 100 Mile House and surrounding areas. At the time of evacuation, the mill was secure. At this time, Norbord is assessing the impact to its production schedule. Mohawk Announces Price Increase on Envelope Products

Mohawk is announcing a price increase of 3.0% on all Domtar Lynx ® and and Earth Choice® Envelopes, and on all International Paper Accent ® Opaque and Springhill ® Envelopes effective with orders taken on June 4, 2018. This price increase will be applied to all contracts and promotions, within agreed upon terms, which include these grades. Manufacturing orders for these envelopes on file with Mohawk prior to June 4, but shipping after that date, will retain the agreed upon price.

Phoenix Paper Completes Inkjet Product Line Launch

Phoenix Paper is pleased to announce the launch of their new product line, Phoenix Inkjet. Fall of 2022, Phoenix Paper entered the Inkjet paper market, offering Phoenix Premier™, a treated inkjet sheet, and Phoenix Preferred™, an untreated inkjet sheet to Commercial Inkjet Printers. Phoenix Paper completed the launch of their Inkjet line in March of 2023 with their 7pt. and 9pt. treated Phoenix Premier™ Grades. Field trials were conducted on each Phoenix Inkjet grade at OEMs and commercial ink jet locations to ensure the products met the paper applications required by end users. Phoenix Paper Field Tech Representatives were involved in the quality trials at major OEMs and the paper scored high in all categories.
