Cascades PRO TM: Balpex Platinum Supplier of the Year

Cascades Inc. (TSX: CAS), a leader in the recovery and manufacturing of green packaging and tissue products, received on  September 18th, 2017  the  Platinum Supplier of the Year award  in the Cleaning and Hygiene category at the Balpex Supplier Summit. This award is presented to a supplier that has achieved exceptional performance in its business sector. Cascades PRO  TM  , a Cascades Tissue Group division, earned this award and recognition thanks in part to an incredible effort rebranding its professional products intended for businesses, industries and institutions.

It was in 2016 that Cascades Tissue Group launched a campaign to promote its professional products now grouped under the Cascades PRO  TM  brand. A major sales and marketing effort made it possible to increase awareness of the product line in a simplified manner.

Sandra Hudon  , Vice President, North American Sales, was visibly moved by the recognition from her customers and emphasized the exceptional work of her team. “Every member of the Canadian Sales and Customer Service team has made an enormous personal effort every day to meet the needs of the Balpex members. I could never thank you enough for your hard work during this transition period and your sustained effort to develop our business with Balpex. And I would like to thank the Marketing team for developing powerful tools and a strong image which have no doubt helped us earn this award.”

This award follows the recognition recently received by Network following restructuring of the brand. It confirms that both our Canadian and US customers are satisfied with the transition. Cascades Tissue Group continues to support the innovation and development initiatives of the Cascades PROTM brand in its approach focused on customers’ needs.

MM Group Reports Results for the First Quarter of 2024

Peter Oswald, MM CEO, comments: “The MM Group recorded a decline in both Group sales and adjusted operating profit in the 1st quarter of 2024 compared to the previous year’s value, due to the earnings performance in the Board & Paper division. The destocking in the supply chain has been largely completed, leading to a significant recovery of volumes sold in Board & Paper. However, pressure on margins continued as expected, as price increases will only compensate for the recent rise in production costs from the 2nd quarter onwards. In contrast, the Packaging division recorded a slight increase in results compared to the previous year, even though the margin was below the strong level of the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2023. Against this background, the profit & cash protection programme, which has already been successfully implemented, and the measures to intensify market penetration will be systematically continued in 2024.
