Aptar Reports Third Quarter 2020 Results

AptarGroup, Inc. (NYSE:ATR) today reported third quarter results for 2020 and provided an update related to COVID-19 including the Company’s continued supply of essential products for critical industries.

Third Quarter 2020 Summary:
*Reported sales increased 8%, including positive effects of currency translation rates and recent acquisitions, and core sales increased 2%
*Strong reported and core growth in our Pharma segment
*Core sales growth in the food, personal care and home care markets
*Sales to the beauty and beverage markets continue to be impacted by COVID-19 pandemic
*Recent acquisitions are performing well
*Reported earnings per share totaled $0.95 (an increase of 12% compared to the prior year)
*Reported net income totaled $64 million (an increase of 12% compared to the prior year)
*Cash flow from operations was $381 million in the first nine months of 2020 (a slight increase over the prior year)
*Free cash flow was $208 million in the first nine months of 2020 (an increase of 8% compared to the prior year)
*Declared quarterly dividend of $0.36 per share

Sonopress, a manufacturer of storage media that is part of Bertelsmann Marketing Services, has developed a revolutionary new form of vinyl LP that drastically reduces the environmental impact of the manufacturing process. Metsä Board’s Twisty Ice Cream Boxes by Adara Pakkaus have been bestowed a 2024 Excellence in the Flexography Award’s Self Promotion Category. The Excellence in Flexography Awards is the premier awards programme for the flexographic industry in the United States. By collaborating with industry leaders, Metsä Board re-designed a favorite of the frozen food aisle: ice cream cone packaging. The team investigated different stages of the value chain, ranging from material production to ink usage and logistics, showcasing new possibilities using carefully selected lightweight fresh fibre materials and flexographic printing methods to achieve excellent usability and unparalleled halftone graphics in extreme high 188 lpi print resolution. The team included packaging designers at Futupack, packaging manufacturer Adara Pakkaus, flexo printing plates supplier Marvaco, ink supplier Siegwerk and ECG printing specialist Dr Kai Lankinen, who consulted on the project.

Aptar Beauty Introduces the First Fragrance Pump Available with PCR Content

Global leader in dispensing systems Aptar Beauty has released a new plastic fragrance pump made with post-consumer recycled resin (PCR). Color Code PCR is the first fragrance pump on the market to include up to 67%* of mechanical PCR Plus material without compromising on customization options and aesthetics. By integrating up to 67%* of mechanical PCR Plus content during manufacturing, Aptar reduces the product’s CO2 emissions by up to -39% versus the version using conventional resin. This number has been verified by a comprehensive Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of the raw materials using Aptar’s internal Eco Design tool**. By choosing Color Code PCR over a conventional plastic equivalent, brands can reduce their Scope 3 carbon emissions, while benefiting from a ready-to-use PCR content claim. Depending on the region, using this pump may also help brands avoid some extra plastic packaging tax.
