Total graphic papers shipments in November 2021 were UP 3.0% vs. November 2020 and were UP 4.5% year-to-date. Total newsprint shipments in November 2021 were down 0.3% vs. November 2020 and were down 3.3% year-to-date. Total sc-magazine shipments in November 2021 were down 8.3% vs. November 2020 and were down 0.2% year-to-date. Total coated mechanical reels shipments in November 2021 were UP 3.1% vs. November 2020 and were UP 2.4% year-to-date. Total uncoated mechanical (improved & others) shipments in November 2021 were down 6.6% vs. November 2020 and were UP 3.2% year-to-date. Total coated woodfree shipments in November 2021 were UP 13.7% vs. November 2020 and were UP 11.8% year-to-date. Leading global packaging and paper group Mondi is launching a range of new paper-based release liners which are created using recycled and light-weight materials and provide a more sustainable solution for a range of applications. The new products have been created with FSC®1 or PEFC® certified paper to ensure responsible sourcing and, being lighter in weight, they offer a sustainable solution for labels, tapes, envelopes and industrial usage. EverLiner labelite is a lighter option to standard glassine for label applications, with the same thickness of 58 gsm glassine but engineered to a reduced weight of 47 gsm. This results in 20% less raw material used to produce the liner. EverLiner M R is the first release liner on the market using a recycled base paper. The machine glazed paper (MG) with 70% FSC® recycled certified content reduces the amount of fresh fibres used and is FSC® certified so ensures responsible sourcing.

Sales of $4.7 billion in the first quarter of 2018 were up 5 percent compared to the year-ago period. Changes in foreign currency exchange rates benefited sales by 3 percent. Organic sales improved 2 percent, as volumes increased 3 percent while net selling prices were down 1 percent. In North America, organic sales increased 3 percent in consumer products and 2 percent in K-C Professional. Outside North America, organic sales rose 2 percent in developed markets and 1 percent in developing and emerging markets. First quarter operating profit was $247 million in 2018 and $848 million in 2017. Results in 2018 included $577 million of charges related to the 2018 Global Restructuring Program. First quarter 2018 adjusted operating profit was $824 million. Results were impacted by $175 million of higher input costs, driven by a $105 million increase in pulp and a $45 million increase in other raw materials.
