Around 80% of the PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) packaging tape used in the world today is made of plastic. Ahlstrom is now introducing MasterTape® Cristal, a revolutionary transparent tape backing made entirely from renewable materials. It is ideal for a wide range of applications, from gift wrapping to packaging and office use, and it offers similar strength and transparency as traditional plastic tape, ensuring no compromise on quality. This innovative tape-backing solution is not only strong and versatile but also recyclable1 and suitable for compostability2, thus reducing plastic waste and environmental impact.

Sealed Air Reports Third Quarter 2017 Results

Net sales of $1.1 billion increased 6% on an as reported basis. Currency had a positive impact on total net sales of 1%, or $13 million. As reported, net sales increased across all regions. Net income from continuing operations on a reported basis was $62 million, or $0.33 per diluted share, as compared to net income from continuing operations of $64 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, in the third quarter 2016. Net income in the third quarter 2017 was unfavorably impacted by $24 million of special items, including $9 million of restructuring and other restructuring associated costs, $7 million related to acquisition and divestiture activity and $5 million of tax special items. Net income in the third quarter 2016 included $17 million of special items, including $7 million of charges related to restructuring and other costs associated with our restructuring programs and $9 million related to tax special items. American Packaging Corporation Announces ISCC PLUS Certification

American Packaging Corporation announces five APC Centers of Excellence achieved International Sustainability and Carbon Certification PLUS. APC's Columbus, Wisconsin, Deforest, Wisconsin, Story City, Iowa, Chili, New York and Rochester, New York plants all achieved the certification, allowing APC to source and convert advanced recycled resins and films, often called circular content. These circular content resins and films are used to manufacture packaging products requiring recycled content and tracks the usage through a mass-balance accounting process, a methodology that looks at all inputs and outputs of a particular process. ISCC PLUS certification plays a crucial role in the development of the circular economy by ensuring the traceability of advanced recycled plastics along the entire supply chain in compliance with the ISCC PLUS standards. Unlike traditional mechanically recycled content, the advanced recycled process converts materials to the molecular level, offering a feedstock that can be used to produce new plastic materials with properties equal to virgin plastic. The result is eco-friendly materials that are highly sought-after by environmentally conscious consumers. This certification provides an additional and complementary option to mechanically recycled materials for those customers wishing to utilize recycled content.
