Pure Supreme is a well-established premium white-top kraftliner, optimized for offset printing. BillerudKorsnäs is now launching an upgraded version of Pure Supreme, which is more than a facelift – it could even be regarded as a new product. It offers excellent print results in terms of colour fidelity and lifelike image reproduction. Its strength and stiffness ensure high runnability, allowing for high-speed printing and converting processes. New Pure Supreme is the latest in a series of new products to come out of BillerudKorsnäs’ KM7, the world’s most modern board machine. The advanced technologies applied in KM7 have made it possible to combine several valuable product properties: printability, strength, stiffness, appearance, consistency, and purity. Like all BillerudKorsnäs products, Pure Supreme is made of 100% pure and strong primary wood fibres, sourced from responsibly managed forests. With the high capacity of KM7 – 550,000 tons/year – global availability is high.

TC Transcontinental Packaging, the Packaging Sector of TC Transcontinental, announces an investment of $60M US (approximately $80M CAD) toward the development of cutting-edge mono-material recyclable flexible plastic packaging solutions, providing high-performance polyethylene films with more heat resistance. In addition to a new innovative film line that will produce biaxially oriented polyethylene (BOPE), a first in North America, the investment includes ancillary equipment and a 120,000 sq. ft building expansion in TC Transcontinental Packaging’s Spartanburg, South Carolina facility. “This new offering will be a game changer in TC Transcontinental's recyclability journey, demonstrating our commitment to distinguish ourselves and gain market share with innovative sustainable solutions for our customers,” said Thomas Morin, President and CEO of TC Transcontinental. “Our offering aligns with our customers’ desire to accelerate speed to market with recyclable products that also protect and preserve their contents throughout their lifecycle, in addition to creating a more circular economy for plastic.”

A new state of the art tissue paper mill is planned by Metsa in the UK through a landmark investment of hundreds of millions of pounds. The planned tissue paper mill in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire in the UK, will use the best available technologies to manufacture 240,000 tons of tissue paper a year for the UK and Irish markets, using fresh fibre pulp as the main raw material from sustainably managed forests in the Nordics. This investment would deliver the largest tissue mill in the UK and significantly reduce the quantity of tissue products that are currently imported into the UK and Ireland each year. When operating at full capacity the mill will create 400+ direct jobs at the facility, as well as thousands more across the supply chain and the local economy.
