Lacerta Group, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable thermoformed packaging solutions, announced today the appointment of Paul Young as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 6, 2023. Mr. Young previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Tekni-Plex, a global leader in the consumer and healthcare packaging sector, where he led the successful turnaround of the business. Through operational excellence, customer responsiveness and strategic growth investments, its revenue grew to more than $1 billion while earnings quadrupled. Prior to joining Tekni-Plex, Mr. Young held various general management and manufacturing roles for Graham Packaging, Owens-Illinois and Continental PET Technologies. Mr. Young holds an M.B.A. from DePaul University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toledo.

Mid South Extrusion, a flexible film and bag manufacturer, announced it is investing $17 million at its facility in Ouachita Parish to install two new state-of-the-art blown film extrusion lines to support growing demand from customers. “Mid South Extrusion has driven economic activity and created opportunity in northeast Louisiana for nearly 40 years, and we are proud that they continue to grow in Louisiana,” LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois said. “I thank MSE for its continued reinvestment and commitment to our state and best-in-class manufacturing workforce.” The additional lines will allow the company to increase production of polyethylene film, the thin, lightweight plastic sheeting that is used to seal and protect a wide variety of packaged industrial and consumer products. MSE serves customers in a wide array of sectors, including agriculture, consumer products, food and beverage, e-commerce and industrial applications.

Pratt Industries executive chairman, Anthony Pratt, has pledged to invest $5 billion in U.S. recycling and clean energy infrastructure to create 5000 American manufacturing jobs over the next 10 years. Anthony Pratt made the pledge – his largest ever commitment – to Caroline Kennedy, the U.S. Ambassador to Australia, at a recent black tie event in Sydney. “Pratt Industries is proud to already be the largest Australian employer of Americans – providing 11,000 well-paying, green-collar jobs in more than 70 factories across the nation,” Pratt said.
