Mondi starts up new extrusion line at Štĕtí to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions

Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, has announced the start-up of its new extrusion line at Mondi Coating Štĕti (Czech Republic), marking another milestone in the Group’s commitment to support customers in their transition to sustainable solutions.

The extrusion line is part of a wider investment that includes a new production building with state-of-the-art machinery including coating and slitting capabilities. The investment expands the production of FunctionalBarrier Papers and other high quality coated papers, offering paper-based solutions with customised barrier properties. Applications range from food and non-food contact packaging to industrial solutions, such as case linings for solid board and barrier liners for corrugated case materials. As part of Mondi’s re/cycle portfolio, the innovative range of FunctionalBarrier Papers offers solutions that can be recycled in existing paper waste streams across Europe.

20/20 Custom Molded Plastics, LLC, an Inteplast Group affiliate, has acquired the assets of Covington, GA - based Vantage Products Corporation and will expand its injection molding business there. 2022 Highlights - Net Sales were $9,440 million versus $7,156 million in the prior year. *Net Organic Sales increased 3% from the prior year. *Net Income was $522 million versus $204 million in the prior year. *Earnings per Diluted Share were $1.69 versus $0.68 in the prior year. *Net debt was $5,133 million versus $5,659 million at prior year end. *Year-end net leverage was 3.2x versus proforma 4.6x at prior year end. *New coated recycled paperboard (CRB) mill will support growing demand and extend position as the lowest-cost, highest-quality paperboard producer in North America. Investment of approximately $1 billion over three years will be internally funded with operating cash flow.

Metsä Board’s comparable operating result in January–June 2021 was EUR 191 million

January–June 2021 (compared with 1–6/2020) • Sales were EUR 1,049.5 million (945.2). • Comparable operating result was EUR 191.3 million (94.2) or 18.2% (10.0) of sales. Operating result was EUR 185.6 million (100.3). • Comparable earnings per share were EUR 0.42 (0.19), and earnings per share were EUR 0.41 (0.21). • Comparable return on capital employed was 19.3% (10.7). • Net cash flow from operations was EUR 150.7 mil-lion (152.3). METSÄ BOARD’S CEO MIKA JOUKIO: “The year 2021 has been very good for Metsä Board. Demand for our fresh fibre paperboards has been strong in all our products and in all our main markets. Sales prices have risen during the first half of the year and we see the same trend continuing in the third quarter. The order books for paperboards remain at an exceptionally high level, which also supports the outlook for the rest of the year.
