Adobe Reports Record Revenue in Q2 Fiscal 2024

Second Quarter Fiscal Year 2024 Financial Highlights
*Adobe achieved revenue of $5.31 billion in its second quarter of fiscal year 2024, which represents 10 percent year-over-year growth or 11 percent in constant currency. Diluted earnings per share was $3.49 on a GAAP basis and $4.48 on a non-GAAP basis.
*GAAP operating income in the second quarter was $1.89 billion and non-GAAP operating income was $2.44 billion. GAAP net income was $1.57 billion and non-GAAP net income was $2.02 billion.
*Cash flows from operations were $1.94 billion.
*Remaining Performance Obligations (“RPO”) exiting the quarter were $17.86 billion.
*Adobe repurchased approximately 4.6 million shares during the quarter.

In yet another major win for freedom to read advocates, a federal judge has ordered the Crawford County Public Library in Arkansas to stop segregating books deemed inappropriate by some local residents into special “social sections,” and to return the books to general circulation. In his September 30 opinion and order, U.S. district court judge P.K. Holmes III held that “it is indisputable” that the creation and maintenance of the library’s so-called social sections “was motivated in substantial part by a desire to impede users’ access to books containing viewpoints that are unpopular or controversial in Crawford County.” In a preliminary injunction, Holmes ordered county officials to dismantle the sections and return the books to general circulation, as well as to refrain from “coercing” library staff to censor books.

Walgreens Boots Alliance Reports Fiscal 2023 First Quarter Results

WBA first quarter sales decreased 1.5 percent from the year-ago quarter to $33.4 billion, an increase of 1.1 percent on a constant currency basis. Operating loss was $6.2 billion in the first quarter compared to operating income of $1.3 billion in the year-ago quarter. Operating loss in the quarter reflects a $6.5 billion pre-tax charge for opioid-related claims and litigation. Net loss in the first quarter was $3.7 billion compared to net income of $3.6 billion in the year-ago quarter.
