Twin Rivers Paper Company Completes Sale of Pine Bluff Unbleached Kraft Mill

Earlier today we notified our employees that we have completed the sale of Twin Rivers’ unbleached Kraft paper mill in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to American Kraft Paper Industries, an affiliate of the global industrial group American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC). Our press release, which will be published this afternoon, is included for your reference.

The sale of Pine Bluff is aligned with Twin Rivers’ strategy of prioritizing the growth of our core specialty papers business and product offering and investing in our Madawaska and New York assets.

Ahlstrom-Munksjö filter media included in the new face masks manufactured by sport and lifestyle brand BUFF®

Ahlstrom-Munksjö establishes a partnership with Spanish sports and life style accessories company BUFF® to provide filter media for face masks. The BUFF® face masks are now available in the United States and Canada following a launch in Europe in June. Each BUFF® face mask includes five single-use filters in the original packaging. Replacement filters are sold separately in packs of 30 units.

Stora Enso to divest the Baienfurt sheeting centre

Stora Enso has signed an agreement to divest its sheeting centre business in Baienfurt, Germany to Pyroll, a Finnish converting firm. The sheeting centre operations started in April 2009 and is 100% owned by Stora Enso. This divestment supports Stora Enso’s growth strategy for its consumer board business, where the focus is to generate value to customers by being the global benchmark in high quality virgin fibre carton board. Running sheeting centre operations is not part of Stora Enso’s core business. The new owner has sheeting operations as its core and is in a better position to further develop Baienfurt.
