Amcor launches 30%-recycled content packaging for Huggies Eco Protect diapers

Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, together with Kimberly Clark, has launched packaging for its Eco Protect diapers with 30% recycled materials in Peru. The bags contain post-consumer recycled content and provide a more sustainable packaging solution for the hypoallergenic diapers made with certified, plant-based fibers.

The new Huggies Eco Protect diapers packaging is designed and produced by Amcor for Kimberly Clark with a shared goal of contributing to a circular economy. The bag has been developed using recycled plastic film that has been processed to be reused as a raw material maintaining performance and minimizing impact on visual appeal.

“A recent Mintel survey shows 39% of Peruvians prefer sustainable packaging, highlighting the importance of the circular economy. By reducing, reusing and recycling materials, we can minimize waste and protect our planet,” said Carolina Gormezano, Huggies’ Marketing Director for the Andes region.

Packaging Corporation of America reported fourth quarter 2020 net income of $124 million, or $1.30 per share, and net income of $127 million, or $1.33 per share, excluding special items. Fourth quarter net sales were $1.7 billion in both 2020 and 2019. Full year 2020 net income was $461 million, or $4.84 per share, and net income of $550 million, or $5.78 per share, excluding special items. Amcor supports next generation of innovators with Michigan State University

Amcor announced it has launched an Amcor Lift-Off session dedicated to Michigan State University (MSU) with the support of the MSU Research Foundation and its network. The program offers an opportunity for early-stage start-ups from MSU and its wider network to win up to $250,000 in seed funding. Additionally, through collaboration with the MSU’s Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, MSU student teams will compete for a grant of up to $10,000. This initiative follows the April 20 opening of the newly renovated MSU School of Packaging building, a program Amcor supported with a $10 million investment that included the establishment of an Endowed Chair of Packaging Sustainability.

April–June 2024 (compared to 4–6/2023): *Sales were EUR 509.8 million (498.2). *The comparable operating result was EUR -0.8 million (27.3), or -0.2% (5.5) of sales. Operating result was EUR -0.7 million (29.5). *Comparable earnings per share were EUR -0.03 (0.05), and earnings per share were EUR -0.03 (0.06). *Comparable return on capital employed was 0.3% (4.6). *Net cash flow from operations was EUR -8.6 million (15.6).
