Trioworld enters agreement with Better Energy in Denmark to purchase renewable energy

With a ten-year power purchase agreement, Trioworld Nyborg contributes to the construction of a new Better Energy solar park on the Danish island, Lolland. The agreement is an important element in Trioworld’s focus on sustainability, and at the same time, it helps to increase the amount of renewable energy on the Danish electricity grid. The PPA will cover one-third of Trioworld Nyborg’s annual electricity consumption, amounting to 7.5 GWh per year.

Trioworld Nyborg manufactures plastic packaging for industrial companies in sectors such as petrochemicals, construction, horticulture, forestry, and more. In addition to producing packaging films, Trioworld Nyborg also has facilities for plastic recycling, providing the company with a stable source of valuable raw materials that are crucial to its overall strategy: leading the way in circular plastic solutions.

By signing a PPA with Better Energy, a large portion of Trioworld Nyborg’s annual energy consumption will be covered by renewable energy. Its ambition to reduce emissions from its manufacturing operations in Denmark helps Trioworld move closer to fulfilling its commitment to become net zero in 2050.

Mactac Sustainability Commitment Shines with Another Critical Guidance Recognition from Association of Plastic Recyclers

Showcasing its ongoing commitment to sustainability, Mactac® has again been recognized by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) for recyclability of its pressure-sensitive label materials. APR recently announced that Mactac has earned Critical Guidance Recognition (CGR) for its polypropylene pressure-sensitive label materials with hot-melt adhesive for rigid polypropylene containers. Label materials were proven compatible with polypropylene container recycling practices, exceeding the strictest criteria for product packaging recyclability. Mactac is the first manufacturer to earn CGR for a hot-melt adhesive for polypropylene recycling applications. Mactac was also the first manufacturer to earn CGR for a hot-melt adhesive for high-density polyethylene containers, which it received in 2023.

Yupo Corporation America has joined the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership, (SGP), as a Silver Level Patron. SGP is the leading authority in sustainable printing certifications for print manufacturers. Through its patronage, Yupo joins other print industry leaders dedicated to promoting sustainability, supporting the aims of SGP and keeping costs low for certification of print facilities. “Supporting SGP not only aligns with Yupo’s corporate sustainability functions, but demonstrates the company’s leadership and advocacy for sustainable print operations,” according to Marci Kinter, Chair SGP Technical Committee. “Although SGP does not certify Yupo products, it does recognize the role the company plays within the print value chain.”
