Trioworld publishes its Sustainability Report 2022

Trioworld, the leading producer of innovative and sustainable high-performance plastic packaging solutions in Europe and North America with its head office in Sweden, has published its seventh annual sustainability report. Highlights during the year are, among many, the EcoVadis Platinum rating, the commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative and the significant investment in expanding the company’s recycling capabilities.

Our ESG work (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is on the right track, acknowledged, for the second consecutive year, by the EcoVadis Platinum rating. In August 2022, Trioworld took an important step by sending the commitment letter to the Science Based Targets initiative and started preparing for target submission. Working according to the SBTi to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is a natural step in Trioworld’s sustainable business strategy to lead the industry change towards circularity in plastic packaging.

Apply for the working group revising FSC’s complaints and appeals procedures

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is seeking candidates for a working group to revise its complaints and appeals procedures. The call for applicants is open until 12 July 2024. The working group will comprise of four (4) members who will be selected based on the following criteria: Experience in: *Developing operational non-judicial grievance and remediation mechanisms. *Managing complicated dispute cases. *Implementing alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. *Managing human rights and socio-environmental sustainability due diligence processes *Using the FSC complaints system or other relevant complaints systems as a party to a complaint. Knowledge in: *FSC’s normative framework, in particular its certification standards, Policy for Association, Remedy Framework, as well as the complaints mechanisms of the various actors in FSC’s certification system. *Measures to ensure equal access to complaints mechanisms according to the needs and challenges faced by users, in particular local forest communities and Indigenous Peoples. *The United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. *Best practices on grievance and remediation mechanisms, including the establishment and use of ombuds services.

Closed Loop Systems for Zero Waste Packaging Solutions

Several brands including Procter and Gamble Company, Unilever, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo recently announced their plan to participate in TerraCycle’s Loop Program that develops circular solutions for hard-to-recycle products and packaging. These companies have all agreed to distribute more products in reusable packaging in place of their current one-time-use, disposable packaging.
