American Forest & Paper Association Releases June 2020 Packaging Papers Monthly Report

The competition, organized by Stora Enso, is now open for registration on recreatepackaging.com until 22nd December 2017. Taste is visual, and an appealing package can alter not only the general impression but also the perceived taste of a food product. The Recreate Packaging by Stora Enso is a design competition that seeks new packaging ideas and solutions based on renewable fibre-based materials. This time, the designers’ task is to rethink food packaging to make the whole product experience appealing, fun and enjoyable for kids.

Total Boxboard production in Q2 decreased 1% compared to Q2 2023. The boxboard operating rate was 88.5%, up 2.5 points from the same quarter last year and up 0.7 points year-to-date. *Solid Bl. Folding–Domestic production increased 13% compared to Q2 2023. *Solid Bleached Boxboard unmade orders were up 29% compared to the end of the previous quarter and increased 35% compared to June 2023. *Uncoated Recycled Boxboard production increased 3% compared to Q2 2023, and was up 2% when compared to the same 6 months of 2023.

Stora Enso is preparing to sell approximately 12% of its total forest assets of 1.4 million hectares in Sweden. Stora Enso has therefore initiated steps to implement a new legal structure for its Swedish forest assets to facilitate the potential sale. A potential transaction would be subject to agreeing terms and conditions with investors, including a long-term wood supply and forest management agreement. A sale would reduce debt and further strengthen Stora Enso’s balance sheet, confirming the financial value of the Company’s forest holdings.
