Lecta Introduces its New Adestor Laser 60 LB DFE Product

Lecta expands its offering of Adestor self-adhesive products for the healthcare industry with the launch of Adestor Laser 60 LB DfE.

Hospitals and laboratories handle chemical samples and tests that require a high degree of traceability to ensure the monitoring of all the coded data on test tubes. The identification of the containers, through variable labeling, requires label integrity, both in terms of adhesion and data legibility.

The new Adestor Laser 60 LB DfE facestock, with greater environmental efficiency, provides excellent performance for all small-diameter labeling applications used in the most frequently performed analysis processes in laboratories. This new product is also ideally suited to different variable data printing technologies.

With this launch, Lecta continues to develop within its Adestor brand a specialized offer of more sustainable pressure-sensitive materials for digital or variable data printing, in response to the growing demand for environmentally friendly products intended for hospitals and labs.

The entire Adestor range is produced in accordance with ISO 14001 and EMAS environmental standards, ISO 50001 energy management standards, ISO 9001 quality standards and ISO 45001 standards for occupational health and safety management systems. Ahlstrom January–June 2024 financial results

Helen Mets, President and CEO, comments on second quarter 2024: Ahlstrom delivered another strong performance in Q2. Our profitability improved once again, while cash flow remains solid. Obsessed with our customers and the markets we serve; we launched several innovative new products − including fluorochemical-free filtration and paper-based pet food materials − to meet the growing need for safe and sustainable solutions. We also refined our strategy and streamlined our organization to accelerate our growth transformation. In addition, our Q2 pulse survey showed an increase in employee engagement. The latest engagement score places Ahlstrom close to the level of the top 10% of companies in the manufacturing industry. I am proud of the progress that we continue to deliver. During the second quarter, market activity continued to strengthen. Adjusted for Stenay divestiture deliveries increased compared to both the previous quarter and the previous year. Comparable EBITDA also grew, supported by an increasingly strong margin on variable cost per ton. This improvement can be attributed largely to our transformation initiatives, including disciplined price management and cost efficiency measures. Overall, cash flow remained solid, supported by the higher profitability, efficient working capital management, and sustainable lower capital expenditure.

ANDRITZ improves pulp mill performance at Mondi Frantschach, Austria

International technology group ANDRITZ has successfully improved performance of the pulp mill at Mondi Frantschach by implementing new advanced process controls. The target was to reduce the variability of Kappa, an indication of the lignin content in the pulp, in order to run the process a step closer to its maximum specification limits. This measure leads to higher production efficiency in the mill because less wood is needed to produce the same amount of pulp. As part of the optimization project, ANDRITZ Automation commissioned and fine-tuned three advanced process controls (APCs) in Mondi´s continuous cooking process. The controls implemented, including the chip level control for digester and impregnation vessel, the digester H-factor control (kinetic model for the rate of delignification in kraft pulping) and the blow-flow consistency control, were fully developed with Metris X – the distributed control system (DCS) developed by ANDRITZ Automation to simplify operational complexity, lower project risk, and improve plant performance. Metris X is a key application of the Metris UX Platform, a state-of-the-art digitalization platform that enables full functionality and support for industrial plants throughout their entire life cycle.
