New head of the Holmen Paper business area

Lars Lundin has been appointed Senior Vice President Paper and will take up his new role no later than the first of december 2018. He succeeds Nils Ringborg, who will remain part of Group management as advisor to the CEO.

“Lars has shown himself to be an excellent manager of change, with years of experience in both production and marketing. His collection of skills will be invaluable in the continued drive to develop our business and I have no doubt that Lars will take Holmen Paper to new heights”, says Henrik Sjölund, President and CEO of Holmen.

Lundin has amassed thirty years of experience in the pulp and paper industry with previous employers such as Stora Enso. His most recent post was CEO of paperboard manufacturer Fiskeby Board.

Kruger Forced to Partially Shut Down Its Brompton Mill

Due to market conditions that remain unfavorable, after a 6-month temporary shutdown, Kruger Specialty Papers is forced to permanently shut down its newsprint, specialty papers and pulp production at its Brompton Mill. However, the water treatment plant will continue to operate and the biomass cogeneration plant will restart. The Company will use all the measures at its disposal to minimize the impact of this shutdown on the 189 affected employees, including the creation of a reclassification committee. Furthermore, approximately 25 employees will return to work to restart the biomass cogeneration plant. As a result of the shutdown, Kruger’s overall annual production will be reduced by 100,000 mt of newsprint and 70,000 mt of specialty paper.

Avery Dennison Names Gregory S. Lovins as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Avery Dennison Corporation announced the appointment of Gregory S. Lovins to senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately. Mr. Lovins, 45, will be responsible for leading financial operations across Avery Dennison, and will also oversee the company's information technology group. Mr. Lovins has served as the company’s vice president and interim chief financial officer since March 2017 and has also been the company’s treasurer since August 2016. He has more than 20 years of experience with Avery Dennison, having served in various positions of increasing responsibility across the company, including global finance leadership for what is now the Label and Graphic Materials segment.
