Expera Specialty Solutions product brand, Resin-Gard™, represents its advanced line of saturating papers engineered to achieve uniform saturant (resin or latex) pickup required by manufacturers to meet finished product performance requirements. Resin-Gard™ offers dimensional stability, engineered strength, and surface properties that meet specific processing needs, providing customers with a comprehensive line of quality products.

In addition, Resin-Gard™ Saturating Papers are available in blended furnish products to create custom colors, bleached or natural. Natural kraft offers an environmentally sensitive option that Expera is able to produce along with certified products and grades containing up to 100 percent post-consumer waste (PCW). Expera also uniquely offers customers Chain of Custody certified papers not only through the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), but also through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) and PEFC®.

Fortress Paper Provides Update on Auxiliary System Failure at its Dissolving Pulp Mill

Fortress Paper Ltd. reports that it has completed an assessment of the failure of a pressurized auxiliary gas collection system at the Fortress Specialty Cellulose Mill (the "FSC Mill") in Thurso, Québec that was reported on September 21, 2017. The Company has identified the source of the failure and is in the process of repairing and replacing the damaged components. The Company has dispatched personnel to multiple supplier and repair locations to further attempt to expedite the work to be completed. Based on best effort commitments provided by equipment and parts suppliers, management believes that production at the FSC Mill will be restarted on or prior to October 9, 2017. Stora Enso partners with Vogue Scandinavia for eco-friendly fashion media

Stora Enso and Vogue Scandinavia have formed a strategic partnership to replace plastics in magazine packaging. As a part of the partnership, Stora Enso will provide Vogue Scandinavia with sustainability and packaging design expertise. A renewable, carbon neutral eco-package concept will be available for the first issue of Vogue Scandinavia, to be published in August this year. As a part of the partnership, Stora Enso will provide Vogue Scandinavia with renewable magazine packaging, along with packaging design and automation services. The Vogue Scandinavia magazine packaging aims to be fully carbon neutral, with a renewable, low-carbon raw material and energy efficient production. The remaining emissions are offset by using the CarbonZero service by Stora Enso, in collaboration with compensation partner South Pole. Stora Enso will provide Vogue Scandinavia with advisory services for sustainable materials and cradle-to-grave life-cycle assessments. Stora Enso will also support Vogue Scandinavia in transparent sustainability reporting.
